Siren Recordings, Logo, Siren Recordings, 2024

Siren Recordings is a record label founded by a good friend of mine, Andrew Whiteman. He asked me to make their logo, and after a lot of back and forth and deep brainstorming we arrived at this beautiful image. He was inspired by typefaces from the magazine BLAST, so I found a sigil within the magazine, embellished it a bit by turning it on its side and modifying it to be a repeating image that also appears to be projecting sound. The current logo is a little different than my final version, utilizing a different font and containing the logo within a circle, but the image of the logo remains the same.

Siren was surprisingly my first logo project and I didn’t take the task lightly. A logo both emits an identity and is the locus of the viewer’s understanding of what the logo signifies. Making an image that is both memorable, bold, inspiring, abstract and communicative while also being personal is a bit like alchemy or conjuring. Needless to say I am very pleased with how this logo came to be and I look forward to how it develops over time.
